In 2025, Hayes founded Lawson~Hayes Luxury, a residential brokerage firm specializing in curating bespoke living experiences and connecting high-end properties with a global audience of discerning buyers. He also established Lawson~Hayes Realty, in 2018 a residential real estate brokerage serving the markets of California, Nevada, and Georgia, with offices in Woodland Hills, Manhattan Beach, Henderson, NV and Atlanta. He is widely respected for his honesty, market knowledge, and client dedication.

Prior to his current ventures, Hayes was a mortgage banking secondary subject market expert. He successfully launched multiple mortgage banking start-ups with industry colleagues in 2001, 2004, and 2009. He also founded AppexREO Asset Managers in 2024, to assist banks in managing the end-to-end process of their real estate owned (REO) assets, from maintenance and marketing to negotiations and final disposition.
